Zuem Stadtwappe

A restaurant steeped in history

When you open the doors of Les Armes de Strasbourg, you enter one of the oldest restaurants in the city. Dating back to 1554, the building is steeped in history and has been welcoming customers since the 19th century.

Also known as the ‘ZuemStadtwappe’, the establishment is shrouded in mystery: was it a brothel? A home for nuns? Is there really an underground passageway connecting the building to the cathedral?

Aux Armes de Strasbourg, the quintessential Alsatian brasserie

Located on Place Gutenberg in Strasbourg, its terrace offers a breathtaking view of the majestic Notre-Dame Cathedral. Inside, the atmosphere is that of a traditional brasserie, warm and friendly, almost homely. Typical décor and waiters dressed as waiters add to the charm of the place.

On the terrace or in the dining room, you can enjoy the generous, tasty cuisine prepared by chef Alain Ehrhardt and his team. Proud of his Alsatian roots, the chef prepares homemade local specialities every day, offering each guest a true immersion in Alsatian gastronomy.
